From the Editors Desk (First issue, March 2006) :

The concept was provided by the Management of PIMS as it was felt that this institution being thirty years old. It was about time that the rest of the world took cognizance of the various scientific and socio-medico-cultural activities being undertaken. This is one of the few institution located in a rural area providing comprehensive medical care from the primary to the tertiary level to the rural people. We are proud of what we achieved in this span of time and would like to share our experiences with the rest of the country and the world. We moved on from there and take satisfaction in the fact that we have been able to achieve reasonably good results considering time constraints. We received tremendous response to appeals made to various departments in the form of original articles. case reports etc. so much so that we unable to publish all available material in the inaugural edition.

The Journal is proposed to printed quarterly with editions to be published in the first weeks of Jan,April,July and October.

The aims and objectives of this Journal are to inculcate a scientific temper among all institutions in PIMS, to highlight various efforts beings undertaken by various institutions in the diverse fields of medico-social activities and to inculcate a sense of confidence in the various students and staff in colleges to undertake research activities and publish them so that a large number of colleagues are made aware of the latest work being undertaken in our institutions. We encourage all members of our organization to make full use of this opportunity to see their name in print. We also propose to get this fledgling Journal of ours to be indexed at the national level so that we bring forth name, fame and glory to our already illustrious institutions.

We encourage all faculty and students of all institutions to make full use of the opportunity provided by this Journal to express themselves and make their mark in the scientific community web directory. This will encourage them to publish material in various national and international Journal.

We also ensure stringent quality control of all material being published so that accreditation may be achieved in the shortest possible time based on merits of quality and originality of work undertaken. We have purposely set our goals very high and we are determined to be the best in any field we endeavour to undertake.
